FALLING DOWN - A story about choosing friends wisely.
Jan 2010 Post: Last year, 2009, I put together a set titled "Waking Up". That set can be found on the 'Past Trance Sets' page. 'Waking Up' started a story line in my head for a series of sets for 2010 under the title, 'FALLING DOWN'. Thus far I have four sets outlined and in various stages of production with a story line developing.

FALLING DOWN - A story about choosing friends wisely.
Chapter One: My Life at One Time.
Well, my life at one time was rather normal. If only I could return to that time. Why did I think things were so bad? Had a nice car. Good apartment. Worked. After work met with friends. Did the normal stuff. Hung out, clubbed, sports, did it all. Pretty normal. Then, for some reason, I decided to spice things up. Maybe it was that trip to the Detroit Electronic Music Fest with a couple of DJ friends looking to get my life out of what I thought at the time was a pretty dull situation. I didn't notice the difference at first. Kind of like when a key change occurs in the middle of a long set and the change doesn't really register. It just happens. The music goes on and you just fall into a groove. Thinking back, when I met her at the music fest, is when my life started a very bad down hill dive. How did I not see this coming?
Where did this girl come from? Out of the hundreds wandering around and slipping into and out of clubs and hotels at the Detroit Techno Music Fest how did she find and latch onto me? Well, I don't need to give that too much thought - just got to keep an open mind. What a beautiful burnout celebrating music in Detroit. It's been a long time since I partied like that - like this. I had no clue she lived in Midwest USA just a few miles from my home. It just came up last day in Detroit and then I rode home with her instead of with my buddies.... No matter... It's been a different life now for the past few months - on to the next club - night after night - like falling into a black hole filled with music - filled with her.... Don't know if I will ever get enough - descending into lust.

Chapter Three: The STALKER
From my apartment window sitting here in the dark I can see her fingers twitching on her steering wheel - probably from anticipation of once again trashing my apartment. Damn, did this go sour or what? How could anyone start out so absolutely perfect and then become so progressively possessive and controlling? Where did that come from? Her personality became too complex to deal with. I knew she would not take it well when I broke off the relationship - but, her controlling behavior left me no choice. The result... now I can't go to sleep at night for thinking I will wake up with her standing over me. At one time I thought I could read her mind - anticipate her moves but she proved much more determined than I thought. She's painted my car and harassed my coworkers. This is bad news. The police say until she does something physical or I catch her doing damage to my car or property they can't do much to help. My friends tell me to not show her any interest but that has not worked - in reality it seems to make her more determined. She's in my head now - I hear weird dark music and she's controlling it. This has gone on now for months with out let up but now it's my turn to take control. I mean, it's like her or me. It's midnight now and she is still sitting out there in her car, thinking about her next move. She really thinks she is so original/so hot. Humm. Well, a few minutes from now and we'll see if I can put an end to this.
The room was small and dark, except for that light they kept on me all the time and an exit sign I wish I was headed for. Not sure how many hours I have been here. Did they really think the theatrics would mean something to me. No charges. No arrest. Just come in for questioning. We had been through my story several times this past week and I was tired and wanted to leave. Apparently the detectives had just loaded up on coffee and seemed ready for another round. For some reason they thought I had something to do with her disappearence. Well, I wasn't the one doing the stalking for the past year. By all rights I should be the one to have gone missing what with all the threats and damage to my house and car. "Shawn", one of them said. "Detective Shane here would like to hear your story." I thought about that a second and replied, "Well, OK. But, the story won't change."
